Article: JOHN WOOD COMMUNITY COLLEGE ANNOUNCES PLANS TO SELL ITS SWINE HERD, DISCONTINUE USE OF SWINE FACILITY

John Wood Community College issued the following news release:

The John Wood Community College Board of Trustees, acting on a staff recommendation, has directed the staff to sell the college's swine teaching herd and discontinue use of the swine management facility. In a related move, curricula for the swine management program and other agriculture programs offered by the college will continue to be adjusted in meeting the changing needs of the agricultural community.

Board action came during the regular meeting Wednesday evening (April 16) at the campus in Quincy. The resolution directed the staff to liquidate the herd and seek proposals for demolition of the building.
