The Mississippi Democratic Party issued the following news release:

Republican Greg Davis has a long history of raising property taxes for Mississippi homeowners - so at a time when the economy is failing, North Mississippi voters can't afford his tax-and-spend attitude.

While Davis served in the Mississippi Legislature as a state representative from 1991 to 1997, he voted to raise county property taxes across the state and also created a restaurant and hotel tax in Tunica and DeSoto counties.

And while serving as mayor of Southaven since 1997, Davis has raised property taxes four times in the last 10 years - giving Southaven the highest property tax of any city in DeSoto County. Since ...
