The city of St. Peters issued the following news release:
A St. Peters Rec-Plex senior youth synchronized skating team repeated as Ice Skating Institute (ISI) national champions. The Ice Gems took first place during the ISI Synchronized Skating Championship held April 11-13 at the St. Peters Rec-Plex[1]. Last year, the Ice Gems won their first national title in Blaine, Minn. (See earlier release[2].)
The Ice Gems were one of five Rec-Plex skating teams that medaled in the event, which took place in the new Rec-Plex South building. This was the first time St. Peters hosted the Ice Skating Institute's national synchronized skating championship.
