Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Electric Vacuum Cleaner

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 19 -- Kazuyoshi Yoshimi and Kazumasa Kamatani, both of Hyogo-ken, Japan, Shuzo Ueyama and Hiroyuki Takami, both of Kasai, Japan, and Kouichi Nakai of Himeji, Japan, have developed an upright type electric vacuum cleaner.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to an "electric vacuum cleaner including a vacuum cleaner main body, a suction tool main body connected to the vacuum cleaner main body and having an suction inlet which is open at a lower surface thereof, a dust box connected to the vacuum cleaner main body, and a grip portion for operating the vacuum cleaner main body.
