In a recent issue of/BL, Terrance Callan argues against a general consensus among commentators that ... in 2 Pet 1:19 modifies the previous verb ....1 He suggests instead that ... modifies what follows in 1:20, .... He insists that "[t]here is no obstacle to understanding .... as modifying the following participle."
