Article: ILLINOIS EPA INITIATES CLEANUP OF ILLEGAL DUMP IN WASHINGTON PARK ON EARTH DAY

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency issued the following news release:

On Earth Day, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) Director Doug Scott today announced that the Agency will begin cleanup of a large illegal dump site located at the intersection of 46th Street and Forest Blvd., just four blocks west of Route 111 in Washington Park. The clean up begins tomorrow, April 22 and weather permitting, will finish Friday, May 2.

There are nearly 400 cubic yards of waste spread over the north and south sides of Forest Blvd, which have been disposed of illegally. Over the next two weeks crews will work hard to remove hundreds of tons of household garbage, box springs ...
