Article: IOWA INFANT IMMUNIZATION WEEK

The Iowa Department of Public Health issued the following news release:

Governor Culver has declared April 19-26, 2008 as "Iowa Infant Immunization Week." This designation is part of an annual national observance of immunizations, highlighting the importance of protecting infants from diseases that can be prevented by vaccines.

Iowa was recently honored at the National Immunization Conference for its childhood immunization rate. Iowa's immunization rate for children 19-35 months of age was 78.9 percent in 2006.
