Nuptials meet narcissism in a trend that sees betrothed Canadians forgoing traditional wedding cake toppers in favour of bride and groom figurines sculpted in their own image or to reflect their individual personalities.

Among the recent creations are a "shotgun wedding" design featuring a pregnant bride; a multi-tasking bride and groom, each with a cellphone glued to their ear; all the members of a blended family; a leggy bride straddling her new husband; and such figurines as a yoga instructor, philosopher, poker shark, Ultimate Frisbee player, accountant and pharmacist.
