The Pennsylvania Republican Party issued the following news release:

After reviewing tonight's election results, Republican Party of Pennsylvania Chairman Robert A. Gleason, Jr. was not surprised to see that Pennsylvanians' overwhelmingly rejected Barack Obama's candidacy.

"Tonight, Pennsylvanians' let Barack Obama know how they felt about the elitist comments he made earlier this month," Gleason said. "Obama spent millions of dollars on television advertisements trying to convince Pennsylvanians that he was not a far left elitist, however, his comments proved to be too much to overcome. Obama's Pennsylvania loss proves that he is out of touch with everyday working class Americans. ...
