Article: Sen. Tester Introduces Gray Wolf Livestock Loss Mitigation Act

WASHINGTON, April 23 -- Sen. Jon Tester, D-Montana, has introduced the Gray Wolf Livestock Loss Mitigation Act of 2008 (S. 2875), legislation that would "authorize the Secretary of the Interior to provide grants to designated states and tribes to carry out programs to reduce the risk of livestock loss due to predation by gray wolves and other predator species or to compensate landowners for livestock loss due to predation."

The bill, introduced on April 16, was co-sponsored by Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyoming. It was referred to the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
