Article: Austrian Inventor Develops Microphone System

ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 24 -- Otto Seknicka of Berndorf, Austria, has developed a remote control unit.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system remotely controls a microphone through a remote control unit. The remote control unit includes a frequency modulator that modulates a control signal. A cable conductor that is used to provide phantom power also conveys a frequency-modulated control signal. The frequency-modulated control signal and audio signals may be separated."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,356,151 on April 8.

The patent has been assigned to AKG Acoustic GmbH, Vienna, Austria.
