ABSTRACT
Purpose: This study had three goals: (1) to assess knowledge of osteoporosis risk factors, (2) to determine the prevalence of risk factors for osteoporosis, falls, and fractures, and (3) to ascertain the relationship between knowledge and prevalence of osteoporosis risk factors in affluent independent community-dwelling aging adults. Methods: Forty-nine individuals over the age of 50 years completed a series of questionnaires and clinical testing procedures to identify osteoporosis knowledge, fall and fracture risk factors.
