Appalachian State University issued the following press release:

Three Appalachian State University graduates have been honored by the university's alumni association for their contributions to the university and accomplishments in their professions.

The awards were presented April 25 during a banquet at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center on campus.

The Outstanding Service Award was presented to Julia Ross Adams of Boone. The Young Alumnus Award was presented to Bobby Martin of Raleigh. William Dexter Coakley of Dallas, Texas, received the association's Distinguished Alumnus Award.
