Springtime brings scholars to conferences, and this spring there are two vintage gatherings that University Affairs plans to attend for our readers.

First up in early May is the 76th annual conference of the Association francophone pour le savoir, or Acfas, meeting this year at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in Quebec City. The Quebec scholarly organization is unique in North America, bringing together under one umbrella every discipline in the natural sciences and medical sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences.

Close on its heels comes the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences, anticipating more than 9,000 attendees for its 77th version ...
