In "Feminism and Public Health Nursing" Beverly Leipert asserts that feminism is highly relevant and "vitally important for the development of public health nursing and for health care." This assertion is supported by an analysis of the key concepts of feminism, a limited number of research studies in public health using feminist principles, and meta-paradigms in nursing. Leipert concludes that feminism is compatible with public health nursing and that it holds promise for the advancement of both public health nursing and the health of the public.
