The Clackamas County government issued the following news release:
To protect Willamette River quality, and to avoid further state environmental violations and fines, the Board of Clackamas County Commissioners (BCC) announced this week that it is voluntarily entering into a Mutual Agreement Order (MAO) with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
The North Clackamas County area must have an expanded sewage treatment system in place by 2010 or face monetary penalties, DEQ told Clackamas County officials late last month.
