PENSION REFORM IN THE UNITED STATES: LESSONS FROM THE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE

Industrialized nations share a number of fiscal and demographic trends that will affect the stability of their pension systems. The United States and Italy are representative of the problems associated with an aging population whose future entitlements are, or will be, provided by contributions of the active labor force.
