Article: Michigan Inventors Develop Current Feedback Self Calibration Method

ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 13 -- Scott M. Costello of Trenton, Mich., Akio Fujimaki of Ypsilanti, Mich., John A. Janitz of Plymouth, Mich., Cristian R. Ludwig of Westland, Mich., Robert D. Mills of South Lyon, Mich., and Allen L. Youngpeter of Canton, Mich., have developed a self calibrating control circuit.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The current drawn by a precision resistor that is selectively connected across a load is utilized to calibrate a current sensed by current sensing device that is connected in series with the load."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,363,186 on April 22.

The patent has been assigned to Kelsey-Haynes Co., Livonia, Mich.
