The California Teacher's Association issued the following statement: "The governor's decision to avoid the suspension of Proposition 98 is a step in the right direction. His proposed budget revision shows he listened to educators, parents and the will of the voters by not suspending the minimum school funding law. But any cut to education hurts our students and schools, and let's be clear, this revised budget proposal still cuts billions of dollars from public education.
