1. The Christner and Dicker article concerns students with Tourette syndrome (TS). Did the Individuals With Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA) or its 2006 regulations provide any specific recognition for students with TS?
The latest legislative amendments did not specifically mention students with TS, but the subsequent IDEA regulations added TS to the specified conditions that may qualify, depending on the remaining criteria for this eligibility classification, as other health impairment (§ 300.8(b)(9)).
