WASHINGTON, May 19 -- Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, has introduced the Runaway and Homeless Youth Protection Act (S. 2982), legislation that would "amend the Runaway and Homeless Youth Act to authorize appropriations."

The bill, introduced on May 6, was co-sponsored by Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pennsylvania. It was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
