WASHINGTON, May 19 -- Rep. Pete Visclosky, D-Indiana, has introduced the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 2008 (H.R. 6045), legislation that would "amend title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to extend the authorization of the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Program through fiscal year 2012."

The bill, introduced on May 13, has 106 co-sponsors. It was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
