Rep. Mark E. Souder, R-Ind. (3rd CD), issued the following news release:

U.S. Rep. Mark Souder voted today for H.R. 5658, the Department of Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009. The authorization bill passed the House by a bipartisan majority of 384-23.

"It is imperative that we provide our troops with the best equipment and protection available," Souder said. "This bill will help ensure that our soldiers have every technological advantage in battle."
