Article: ENERGY STAR SALES TAX HOLIDAY OFFERS TAX BREAK ON ENERGY EFFICIENT HOUSEHOLD EQUIPMENT

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts issued the following news release:

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs today reminded Texans that energy efficient household appliances carrying the Energy Star label will be tax free during Memorial Day weekend, May 24-26. Shoppers who take advantage of the tax break are expected to save about $2.6 million in state and local sales taxes.

"The Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday rewards Texans for choosing the most energy efficient appliances available and helping conserve the state's vital energy resources," Combs said.
