One of the main components of the climate system is the atmospheric boundary layer, which mediates the interactions between the ocean/land surface and the free atmosphere. Several boundary layer processes are known to have a profound influence on the climate system. Relevant examples include the feedbacks between boundary layer clouds and climate.
