More than 30 "Gold Eagle" Sailors gathered May 22, at Bayside Harley Davidson in Portsmouth, to discuss the importance of motorcycle safety and brush up on basic motorcycling skills and proper protocol for riders.

The event was facilitated by Carl Vinson's Safety Department to bring greater awareness to motorcycle safety and encourage crew members who own bikes to ride safely.

Before partaking in a 120-mile ride through the Hampton Roads area, Sailors listened to safety briefs by officers from the Portsmouth Police Department. Proper protective equipment ...
