Article: DEPARTMENT IMPLEMENTS CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TITLE INSURANCE AGENTS, EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW AGENTS

The Missouri Department of Insurance issued the following news release:

The department announced today that new title insurance agents must pass an examination before obtaining a license and all title agents must complete eight hours of continuing education every two years to keep their license.

Last year, Gov. Matt Blunt signed Senate Bill 66 (2007) creating these new licensing standards for title insurance agents. Prior to April 15, 2008, no exam requirement for title insurance agents existed, and prior to August 28, 2007, no continuing education requirements were in place.
