It is your first day of student teaching at the beginning of a new school year. You nervously walk into your assigned classroom to greet your cooperating teacher and await those 24 shining faces. You already are feeling overwhelmed by the responsibilities you will be taking on as a student teacher. There will be no typical college class schedule, no staying up until the wee hours of the morning, no sleeping in, and no "going out" two or three nights a week. You slowly will follow in the footsteps of your cooperating teacher and gradually take on his or her responsibilities and duties as a classroom teacher.
