It's V-Day once again in Manila on June 1. First-rate actress Cherie Gil headlines the powerhouse cast of New Voice Company's benefit performance of Eve Enseler's The Vagina Monologues at the RCBC Theatre in Makati. The show is being performed back to back with V-Day's newest work-A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer, showcasing monologues that speak of women and men's inspiring and moving stories of violence, redemption, survival and hope.
Gil first performed with the New Voice Company in 2001, bringing audiences to tears with her performance of the show's final monologue-"I Was There In The Room"-on childbirth, a piece popularized by Hollywood film icon Jane Fonda.
