Article: German Inventor Develops Data Storage Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 2 -- Friedhelm Steinhilber of Rottweil, Germany, has developed a data storage method.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "For storage of data on data carriers accommodated in cassettes, a device is used with a magazine, having receptacles for cassettes and with a robot unit for changing the cassettes between the receptacles and a drive."

An abstract of the invention, released by the Patent Office, said: "The magazine is movable relative to robot unit, in order to position the selected receptacle for changing of the cassette.
