The Tennessee Department of Transportation issued the following news release:

Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner Gerald Nicely joined state and local officials in Morgan County today to break ground on a new State Route 62 widening project. The project is approximately 5 miles in length and stretches from US Highway 27 in Wartburg to just west of Petit Lane. Once finished, the project will provide two lanes in each direction plus a center turn lane.

"State Route 62 is an important route in Morgan County and this widening project will provide better and safer access to neighborhoods and businesses," said Nicely. "There are many important industries that use this highway ...
