Welcome to the fiftieth volume of Canadian Slavonic Papers.
This is a nice round number that warrants a little attention for it bespeaks of the achievements and tenacity of Slavic Studies in Canada. It took 52 years to arrive at this milestone, a testament to the fact that the journal has had its ups and downs. Nevertheless, thanks to the Canadian Association of Slavists, our past editors, and other people behind the scenes, we continue to produce what we know to be important and useful scholarship in our interdisciplinary field.
We have grown from our early roots as a journal of history, language and literature. While those areas continue to thrive we now receive major contributions also ...
