Wearing out your welcome: Knowing when to leave a job is important

Sometimes it's a pain deep in your gut you feel upon waking or as you pull into the parking lot at work. Sometimes it's a feeling of hopelessness or dread or the feeling that you're shouldering all the responsibility at work. Often it's just a sense you're never again going to be happy or satisfied with your job or maybe any job. Face it: it's time you found work elsewhere.

Changing jobs is a normal process, indeed a necessary step, in building a career. Too many workers recognize this fact too late and stay in positions they find practically intolerable. Some stay so long they become too depressed to move on or end up out on the street after they've lost a job they no longer care about.
