U.S. Representative Tom Allen issued the following statement today on the appointment of Maj. General John W. Libby, Adjutant General of the Maine National Guard, to the Department of Veterans Affairs' Rural Health Advisory Committee:
"The VA has made an excellent choice in naming General Libby to its Rural Health Advisory Committee. General Libby has a long and distinguished record in service to Maine and America, most recently in the response to the floods which devastated Aroostook County.
