REP. UDALL STANDS UP FOR NEW MEXICO RURAL SCHOOLS

Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M. (3rd CD), issued the following news release:

U.S. Representative Tom Udall, D-N.M., today supported a plan to provide nearly ten times as much funding for a key rural education initiative in New Mexico. H.R. 3058 would have increased New Mexico's share of Secure Rural Schools (SRS) funding from $2.3 million to roughly $20 million per year. It failed, however, to reach the two-thirds threshold for passage under special rules by a vote of 218-193.
