Article: REP. SHAYS URGES SPEAKER TO INCORPORATE ENERGY FOR OUR FUTURE ACT IN HER COMMON-SENSE PLAN TO LOWER ENERGY COSTS

Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn. (4th CD), issued the following news release:

In a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Christopher Shays (CT-4) has reiterated his call for a bipartisan, common sense energy plan like the one the Speaker promised in the fall of 2006.

Shays and Congressman Maurice Hinchey of New York first introduced H.R. 1945, the Energy for Our Future Act (EFOFA), a comprehensive bipartisan energy reform bill that seeks to decrease U.S. dependence on foreign oil, protect the environment, build a market for renewable energy, and promote energy conservation in 2005.
