I want to call to your attention to the pair of blue cut to clear vases on page 32, of the March A&C (Lightner Collection of cut glass) that are identified as Thomas G. Hawkes.That identification is in error. The clue to the vases' true origin is in the general shape, the cut tapering to the wafer above the clear bubbleball, and the seat upon which the bubbleball is attached-these vases were made by the Pairpoint Corporation between 1918 and 1938.
