YOU CAN'T go anywhere these days without overhearing a conversation about the rising cost of petrol. A good friend of mine recently purchased an SUV that is supposed to get 27 mpg. It is currently getting about 15. Ugh...is that less than the gas guzzling Hummer? I know she doesn't make any unnecessary road trips these days.

I wonder if antiques lovers will feel that a trip to a show or auction is "uneccessary" this summer? I sure hope not! I make my way around Chicago by bus, train, bike, taxi, and occasionaly, by hitching a ride with a friend. I can get myself to an antique show or mall, but heaven help me if I have to get a big purchase home. I bought a small ...
