COLORADO ADDED TO FDA'S SAFE TOMATO LIST

The Colorado Department of Agriculture issued the following news release:

Colorado has been added to the Food and Drug Administration's list of states not associated with the latest food safety alert for certain types of red tomatoes due to a salmonella outbreak.

"Very few Colorado tomatoes are on the market right now but those tomatoes harvested in our state have been cleared of any connection with the salmonella outbreak" said Commissioner of Agriculture, John Stulp. "If you're shopping for tomatoes, try to buy locally grown tomatoes or make sure they come an FDA list of approved states."
