SECOND COLORADO SALMONELLA CASE LINKED TO TOMATOES

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment issued the following news release:

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has confirmed one additional case of Salmonella Saintpaul linked to raw red Roma, raw red plum, raw red round tomatoes, or products that contain these types of raw red tomatoes. This brings to two the total number of Colorado confirmed cases linked to the national outbreak, one in Weld County and the other in Otero County.

At this time, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers to limit their consumption of tomatoes to the following types of tomatoes that are NOT likely to be the source of this outbreak and can be eaten:
