WASHINGTON, June 12 -- Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Texas, has introduced a resolution (H.Con.Res. 370) "expressing support for designation of Sept. 2008 as 'Gospel Music Heritage Month' and honoring gospel music for its valuable and longstanding contributions to the culture of the U.S."
The resolution, introduced on June 10, has 53 co-sponsors. It was referred to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
