Poster Presentation: An Observation

To the Editor.-Preparing a poster, especially for the first time, can be quiet challenging. I thought my observations could serve as a guideline for the number of columns, figures, tables, and charts/algorithms that could be included in a poster. These observations were made during the poster session of the 55th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Society of Cytopathology, Houston, Tex, November 2 through 6, 2007.

For this meeting, 153 abstracts were accepted to be presented as posters. Ninety percent of the accepted posters were presented, for a total of 138 posters. The posters had between 2 and 6 columns, with an average of 3 columns. Some of the authors incorporated 3 columns in ...
