ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 13 -- Eric Allen Stegner of Durham, N.C., Robert William Stegner of Raleigh, N.C., and Mark Edmund Maresh of Phoenix, have developed an apparatus for protecting shipment product.
According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An arrangement of securing frame assemblies is provided within a shipping enclosure and engaging packages being handled. The frame assemblies have rigid frame members and distensible bags mounted on the frames. The distensible bags are, in use, distended as by being inflated or otherwise filled with a pressurized fluid to engage and secure freight."
The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,377,393 on May 27.
