The Impact of Sense of Coherence on Career Thoughts for Individuals With Disabilities

This study examined the effect of sense of coherence on the career thought process. Sense of coherence is the global orientation that the world is comprehensible, manageable, and meaningful. A sample of individuals with disabilities completed the Sense of Coherence Scale and the Career Thoughts Inventory (CTI). Univariate tests indicate a large relationship between Sense of Coherence Scale scores and CTI-total scores and CTI-Decision Making Confusion subscale and CTI-External Conflict subscale scores and a medium relationship between Sense of Coherence Scale scores and CTI-Commitment Anxiety subscale scores.
