This issue, Volume 45:1, represents a new beginning. It is the first issue to appear under the title Canadian Review of Sociology reflecting the decision nearly 2 years ago by the members of the former Canadian Sociology and Anthropology Association to change its name to the Canadian Sociological Association. In doing so, they recognized that most anthropologists in Canada were now members of their own association with its own journal and that it was appropriate for sociologists in Canada similarly to reflect their own unique professional identity. As this is the official journal of the CSA, the name change is a reflection ofthat new organizational identity.
