The New Jersey State Senate Republicans issued the following news release:

Senator Joseph Kyrillos, a member of the Senate Economic Growth Committee, issued the following statement condemning the introduction of legislation that would siphon $9 million from the Shore Protection Fund.

"The New Jersey shore is both a symbol of the state and an economic engine that drives the state's tourism industry. Diverting $9 million from this fund could cause irreparable harm to our efforts to maintain New Jersey's beaches and shore resorts.
