Article: Austrian Inventor Develops Printer with Driven Print Media Carriage

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- Kia Silverbrook of Balmain, Austria, has developed a print media carriage.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A printer includes a chassis. A print media carriage is arranged on the chassis and is displaceable with respect to the chassis. A drive mechanism is mounted on the chassis and is engaged with the print media carriage to displace the print media carriage with respect to the chassis. A controller controls the drive mechanism and includes a user interface to allow a user to actuate the drive mechanism."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,380,929 on June 3.
