THE RIGHT QUESTIONS

Most library administrators are pretty experienced interviewers. They interview candidates for openings on the staff - probably all of them in smaller libraries. Or at least for senior positions. So, unless your turnover is low indeed or you are a new administrator, you are used to talking to candidates and asking them questions about their experience.

When I was an administrator of a fairly large library I insisted on interviewing candidates for all professional and paraprofessional positions.
