Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Visceral Fat Determination Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- Shozo Kawanishi and Koichi Okita, both of Akashi, Japan, have developed a visceral fat determining device.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A device is provided which is capable of determining an amount of exercise involved in walking, as well as of obtaining quantitative information about visceral fat in the abdominal part of a subject and which can be used handily by being carried with the subject. The visceral fat determining device with a step-counting function is configured as follows."
