Over the past four decades, Canada has put in place four significant achievements in book publishing. The first is the creation of a literary writing community that has emerged from global, and even domestic, invisibility to renown. The second is a wide selection of fiction and nonfiction titles that present Canada's literary talent and deal with a range of subject matter of importance to Canadians.
